What is your ‘why’ for exercising?
It gives structure to my week (team training three times a week and four gym sessions per week). I play Rugby Union and the lads I play with are good fun, so I enjoy seeing them regularly and having the self-discipline to stay in good condition. It gives me something to focus on that’s in my control.
What advice would you give to someone around using physical activity to improve their mental health?
Stick with it – don’t give up early as the benefits will always come months or years down the line rather than days or weeks!
